Abstract:   (232 Views)
Chemchemeh flower, commonly known as spathiphyllum and the english name of peace lily, is a perennial and evergreen plant from the Araceae family. This plant does not have a specific stem and the leaves come out directly from the soil. This plant has spadix inflorescences that are covered by a white cover. Gibberellin is one of the plant growth regulators, which in small amounts has significant morphological and physiological effects on plants and increases the quantity and quality of ornamental plants, especially flowering plants. In this connection, the present research was conducted to evaluate the effect of different levels of gibberellic acid as the most important gibberellin on the morphological and physiological indicators of the flowering stage of Spathiphyllum plants in greenhouse conditions in the north of Iran. This research was conducted in the form of a completely randomized design with 3 repetitions and 4 levels of gibberellic acid concentration. The tested treatments were include: concentrations of 50, 100 and 200 ppm gibberellic acid and the control treatment (without the use of gibberellic acid). The results showed a significant effect of high levels of gibberellic acid compared to the control treatment on the traits measured at 5 and 1 percent levels. The highest level of gibberellic acid (200 ppm) increased all traits and decreased the number of days to flowering (102 days to flowering). Among the most significant increase in traits compared to the control, including Pedicel length (58.33%), Pedicel diameter (44.86%), number of flowers (4), flower spot length (28.82%), spot width (50%), chlorophyll a (13.48%), chlorophyll b (19.79%), total chlorophyll (17.75%) and carotenoid content (16.39%). Therefore, the role of gibberellins in improving traits, especially in the flowering stage, was evaluated as significant. It should also be noted that higher levels of this growth regulator (200 ppm) are much more efficient and are recommended for use.
